The Institute of Machining Technology (ISF) has a vacancy for a Student Assistant (m/f/d) in the Simulation and Process Design group for the next possible date.

The interdisciplinary department of Simulation and Process Design at the Institute of Machining Technology is intensively involved in the development of simulation software for machining processes such as milling and grinding. For this purpose, geometric surrogate models for tools and workpieces as well as empirical surrogate models for physical effects such as process forces, vibration behavior and heat input are developed. The integration is done in a self-developed framework for input parameterization, result management, control of the simulation process as well as graphical representation. In addition, small tools for the preparation and evaluation of machining tests are developed often. These tests serve to validate our simulation models and are an important part of our work.
