Development and Experimental Evaluation of a Cutting Fluid Supply System for Chip Formation Analysis in Orthogonal Cutting
- Abschlussarbeiten

As part of ongoing research, the tribological conditions in the cutting zone are investigated through chip formation analysis in orthogonal cutting. The simplified cutting conditions enable systematic analysis of fundamental mechanisms that contribute to the understanding of more complex machining processes. To date, the influence of cutting fluid has only been investigated in individual experiments requiring extensive preparation. To enable series of experiments with precisely adjustable cutting fluid supply parameters, a continuous cutting fluid supply system is to be developed and integrated into the existing experimental setup. The main challenge is to ensure that the cutting fluid supply is compatible with the existing optical and mechanical measurement systems. The objective of this work is to design, build and experimentally evaluate the cutting fluid supply system in terms of its functionality and compatibility with the existing measurement equipment.
